[comp.sys.next] 'tip' help arrived fast

stone@unmvax.cs.unm.edu (Andrew Stone) (05/28/89)

Recently I pleaded for 'tip' help. Here were some helpful suggestions:

From: chavez@sumex-aim.stanford.edu (R. Martin Chavez)

I use the following line in /etc/remote to connect to a Sun-4 at
Stanford. I think your problem is that you're using /dev/cua
instead of /dev/ttya. (I'm also using a Hayes modem.)

sumex:pn=7237461:dv=/dev/ttya:br#1200:at=hayes:du:

i am not sure this will solve your problems, but i am successfully using a modem myself using the following /etc/remote file
a9600|Hardwire on ttya at 9600 baud:\
	:dv=/dev/ttya:br#9600:el=^C^S^Q^U^D:ie=%$:oe=^D:
