[comp.sys.next] NeXT ftp archive updated

gerrit@nova.cc.purdue.edu (Gerrit) (06/01/89)

I've reorganized the ftp archive on j.cc.purdue.edu a bit. Since I
haven't had a chance to test every program that was out there under
0.9, I've created two new directories to seperate 0.8 programs from 0.9
programs. The two directories are "0.8sources" and "sources".
"Sources" will always be the sources which will run under the current
release of the NeXT OS. I've also created a "doc" directory for
documents and a "patches" directory for patches.

If you pick port any of the programs from the 0.8sources directory to 0.9,
please let me know. I don't expect that many of them will be difficult,
but they probably should be done.

I've also added my latest learning experience to the archive: a tool which
allows you to configure the tools menus to contain full commands which can
be executed WITH parameters. You can create titled submenus which contain
lists of {title, command} pairs and each title can itself be a submenu.

The archive is available on j.cc.purdue.edu in pub/next. Consult the
README and INDEX for more detailed info. If you have any applications to
add to the archive, send mail to "next-archive@j.cc.purdue.edu" and we'll
set up a way to add the program to the archive.
