[comp.sys.next] CONNECTTING SCSI DRIVES TO NeXT

jami@jolnet.ORPK.IL.US (Jami Montgomery) (06/06/89)

Can some one out there help?.
I am getting a NEWBERRY 380M byte drive (model NDR4380s).
and would like to connect it to the cube. I have seen some posting of folks
connecting drives to the cube. Would these folks step out and lend a hand.

I know that I will have to add an entry in the disktab file, but I don't
know what some of the abbrevations mean, like "ng , gs, ga, fp, bp ,z0,
and most of the rest. which entrys are a must, which can I guess on, which
can I leave out. Is there any other files I have to modify?
Can I use the builddisk utility to then build the hard disk?
What is DEV_BSIZE?
as you can see I need REAL HELP, But this dive was a real deal only $1399.00

The newberry disk is a scsi full height internal drive (19ms access) and has:
	num. cylinder = 1224
	num. tracks = 15
	num. sectors = 35
	sector size = 512
If you need more details I can give them to you in a day or two, thats when I
should have the docs. and the drive.
please e-mail, post, or call
THANKSSSSSSS!
