        I enjoy restoring classic and antique and i have heard 
of magazine's that i could subscribe to that pertain to this hobby.
  Can anyone tell me the names of these mag's and how i can get my 
own subcritions going. i would appreciate any help i could get. i have'nt 
been able to locate any.

HEMMINGS MOTOR NEWS has just about everything a sane person would want. Write: HMN Subscriptions, Box 100, Bennington, VT 05201 Back in '84 a year's subscription (12 issues) cost $15.50 and a current sample copy ran $4.50 with first class delivery. The rates are now higher so you might want to call them first. I wouldn't worry about the cost. When you are restoring a car you soon learn to numb your mind when dollars are mentioned. |-) - Phil

Depends upon what type of car you want to restore, but if it's English,
there are a number of magazines that might help:
Practical Classics              This magazine is geared towards the
PPG Publishing Ltd.             do-it-yourselfer.

All of these rags contain lots of ads for parts from English companies.
Typically, one finds a 25% savings on parts (over buying in the US),
including shipping.  They all take VISA and phone orders too!
I picked up initial copies of these magazines in a place called
Magazine City in Seattle.  I suspect there is a store like it in every
major city in the US.
