[comp.sys.next] Printer hangup

Just a quick point you may need to know: the NeXT Laser Printer software
doesn't know what to do when the Toner is Low.

The symptom is that you print something, and nothing happens. The Printer
app says Status is Printing. The only clue you can get is if you use the
Test... command in Printer's menu. The Test panel will say Toner Low in
its status area.

The solution is simple, of course. Since the toner low threshold is *very*
high, you don't need a new cartridge yet. Just take it out and rotate it
back and forth (rotating about the drum's axis) a few times. This redistributes
the toner evenly and you're on your way. For all you LaserWriter fans, this
will make the printer work for *much* longer than you expect.
