[comp.sys.next] Displaying Apple LW PostScript on a NeXT

chavez@sumex-aim.stanford.edu (R. Martin Chavez) (07/11/89)

I have a large document (specifically, my dissertation) that I prepared using
TeXtures on the Macintosh. I'd like to convert everything over to the NeXT.

Unfortunately, I have about 50 figures. I know how to capture the PostScript
that my mac sends to the laser printer (with the 'K' hold-and-click hack to
the printer driver). NOW:

How do I get my NeXT to display the resulting pseudo-EPSF file? I'm having
all kinds of problems. I tried hacking the prologue file, but I'm not having
lots of luck. I'm sure that I can get it to work, but I'd hate to waste my
time if someone out there has the answer.

In brief: Does anybody have a modified prologue file for printing Apple LW
PostScript on NeXT windows (via Yap/Preview) and printers?

P.S. By the way, if anybody is interested, the version of TeX supplied with
0.9 is TeX without the BIGTEX.PATCH for large buffers. If you need big TeX
(I do), you can get the standard distribution from labrea.stanford.edu, edit
the -S ld flag out of the makefiles, add '-D__STRICT_BSD__' to CFLAGS in all
the makefiles, apply the patch, and then 'make all'. it works. (It isn't
necessary to modify dvips.)
