[comp.sys.next] Configuration Questions

In light of the recent announcements in the NY Times and Wall St. Journal,
I'm no longer sure exactly what comes with what for how much.

1. Are all NeXT models now being shipped with the 40-meg "Acclerator"
drive? If not all models, which? If not now, when? (In case you haven't
heard, NeXT announced a fast, small drive for temporary storage /
    swap space / virtual memory.)

2. Will the "Acclerator" be given free of charge to existing NeXT owners?
If not, what is the cost?

See, if this accelerator makes an OD-only system more usable, I may put off
buying the hard drive... It would make the financial picture a lot rosier.

3. NeXT apparently intends to sell "diskless" workstations for use on
networks. The student price is $4995. What is a student going to do
with a diskless machine? I know of no student networks... Unless Jobs
is thinking of ethernet campus networks in dorms...
