First, anyone out there have strong opinions on the Nissan 200SX (for or against.) Consumer reports had an article reviewing it about a year ago, but no "frequency of repair" info was available at that time. Second, what is the opinion of the net about the impartiality of Consumer Reports . (I know CR is very touchy on this subject). According to CR, one shouldn't even THINK of buying an American built car. The best of all possible cars is the Toyota Camry, although anything Japanese is probably okay. (Most Japanese cars do better than the best American cars in CR, Ford consistently scores best among US autos with an "average" frequency of repair rating, while Japanese cars are "average" to "much better than average" in general.) Is there any way that these ratings could possibly be biased? Do U.S. auto executives ever read Consumer Reports? -- All opinions expressed here are my own and not necessarily those of my employer Ronald A. Iltis UCSB Dept. ECE
