[comp.sys.next] DPS showpage

woo@pioneer.arc.nasa.gov (Alex Woo RAC) (01/03/90)

According to the PostScript reference manual, "showpage
then performs the equivalent of erasepage and initgraphics
in preparation for the next page." This doesn't seem to
happen on a NeXT. Is this a feature?

Well, the fact that showpage is a no-op on the screen is documented
online, but nowhere does it say that it doesn't perform an initmatrix
on the printer, so *that* is a bug. A rather surprising one, too.
