[comp.sys.next] OD Failure

JOE@oregon.uoregon.edu (Joe St Sauver) (01/04/90)

Well, I never thought it would happen to me, but it apparently has... my
Optical Disk appears to be failing. Can anyone tell me if the following
error messages appear similar to the ones characteristic of the OD failures
discussed previously on the list?

Also, can the OD disk failure veterans let me know if NeXT stood behind their
product, or did getting the OD problem resolved cost mucho dinero?

Thanks for any suggestions/help....

My OD failed, but I can't remember about the error messages. NeXT was
extremely helpful in replacing the drive.
NeXT just asked me to bring it over to their Fremont factory. They
swapped it for free while I waited. This was after their 90 day
warranty had expired.

Thanks for the great service NeXT.
