Thanks to all of you who responded to my plea for help in connecting our NeXT to a twisted-pair network. Sorry I haven't gotten back to all of you personally, I got a LOT of responses. Our building is wired with a twisted-pair network from Ungerman-Bass. Our network people are getting a box from them which should allow us to hook up the NeXT with no problem. From what I understand, the box goes in our network switch room, I think the box is a transceiver. The wire going to my office is hooked up to the box. Then, in my office a cable goes directly from the wall to the thin-net connector on the NeXT. The box will be here "real soon now", we'll see if it works. If not, I'll probably order the Etherport 2NL board from Kinetics, which has both thick-net and twisted-pair connectors on it. As we have starting learning Objective-C, a question has arisen: Q: Does Objective-C permit multiple inheritance? Can a class have more than one super-class? Please, any help would be appreciated. We are sending one of our people to the NeXT Developer's Course "Programming the NeXT Computer" on the 23rd of this month. He's going to try to find out, but it would be nice to know now, and from someone that has actually done it. Concerning the NeXT public domain disk being put together by Lighthouse Design, Ltd.: Since we're not on the net YET, it would be nice to have that stuff as soon as possible. So, as soon as it becomes available, I would like information on how to order it. To Edward Jung of The Deep Thought Group: We would be very interested in being part of a NeXT Developer's Association (or whatever it ends up being called). We would be willing to pay, but how much depends on what membership benefits would exist. We enjoy our NeXTs very much, though they are sluggish at times. I am encouraged to see that WordPerfect, among others, has recently annouced that they are bringing programs to the NeXT.
