I just got the RGB 111 video adapter from Extron Electronics. We wanted to be able to project NeXT displays through our Electrohome Graphics projector. The RGB 111 plugs into the cube with a very short cable to the display output. The normal MegaPixel display cable plugs into the other end of the box, and R-G-B and Synch (or composite) come out of the side. It worked just like a black box should: quietly, and the first time. There are a few switches that can be twiddled from inside the box (eg, sych on green), but we didn't need any of them. The quality of the graphics is as good as I've seen on a projector (other than big-$ ones like the Light Valves NeXT uses). For $370, it's a great deal; lots of simple-looking video converters are very expensive. One caveat: before buying any of these things, make sure your projector or other monitor can handle the screen rate of the NeXT: I've left my notes elsewhere, but it's pretty high, like 53 or 63 KHz. Scan conversion is another, more expensive, game. David Kay dbk@esl.com standard mumble: No one I've ever known has anything to do with Extron, except I talked to a salesman and placed an order.
