I have been having a problem with my cube. Window Server death. Sounds pretty extreme, doesn't it. This situation has occurred three times now. The first two times it happened were about two weeks ago while I was previewing a large (and at the time buggy) postscript file. I put it off to a problem with my postscript. However, this time I was just logging in. The login window had disappeared, the NeXT dock icon came up, there was a short pause and then on came the nmi window scrolling fast. Here's what was displayed (from /usr/adm/messages). Feb 2 12:49:47 datran2 -[157]: loginwindow: Workspace exited ts 0 cd 0 rc 1 sv 0 ss 1. Feb 2 12:49:47 datran2 -[157]: An uncaught exception was raised Feb 2 12:49:47 datran2 -[157]: DPS client library error: Error while writing to connection, DPSContext c18c, data -102 Feb 2 12:49:47 datran2 -[157]: Exiting due to Window Server death This problem leaves the keyboard and mouse disconnected. My only alternative is pulling the plug.
