I got this from Marc Horowitz, the "official release" announcement. enjoy! pasc I am pleased to announce that XNeXT, the port of X to the NeXT machine, is now available for anonymous ftp. This is a beta version, but it is pretty stable, so you shouldn't have many problems, if any. The ftp site is ``athena-dist.mit.edu'', IP address 18.71.0.38. The directory pub/XNeXT contains a README file in WriteNow (README.wn) and in ASCII (README.txt) format, and a tar'ed, compress'ed file (XNeXT.tar.Z) which contains the server binary, include files, libraries, fonts, client binaries, and copies of the README files. More information on the port is contained in the README files, and in the Help and Info panels inside the program. If you have any other questions, please forward them to xnext@athena.mit.edu. For a week or so, these files will also be available on styrofoam.cps.msu.edu (35.8.56.144) in pub/XNeXT. The README files and the tar files are about 8MB. The directory hierarchy in the tar file eats about 15.6MB. TTFN-Pat -- Patrick Flynn, CS, Michigan State University, flynn@cps.msu.edu
