I am interested in bringing up NCSA's X Image and X DataSlice on the NeXT, now that X Windows is available on the Cube. These scientific visualization programs are available free via anonymous FTP from ZAPHOD.NCSA.UIUC.EDU, but they require you to have available the HP X Widget library. NCSA is kind enough to make the sources for the HP library available, too, but you guessed it -- the HP X Widget library croaks when you try to build it, even after modifying the Makefiles to look "Sun"-like, complaining about some of the structure declarations in the .h files. Therefore, my question to y'all is this: are any of the rest of you interested in trying to bring these visualization tools up under X on the NeXT? Has anyone successfully built the HP X widgets already on the NeXT? I want these programs for my NeXT, but I don't want to re-invent the wheel or waste a lot of time if one of you real C-language all stars is already just about done with this little project. Thanks, Joe St Sauver (JOE@OREGON.UOREGON.EDU or JOE@OREGON) P.S. Do the rest of you have a screwy looking cat-format man page for man 1 cc ? Is this an artifact of something I've inadvertently done, or does everyone have a dinged up /NextLibrary/Documentation/Unix/ManPages/cat/cc.1 ? Just curious... J
