A number of you have been requesting information about dust filters for your optical drives. Due to mail difficulties, I have been unable to respond to all of you, so I am posting some information here. Nextessories makes these custom filters for the NeXT, but they are still "pre-release", which makes them subject to design changes (although there have been only a few minor changes so far). The filters certainly reduce dust buildup in the OD and I've had no OD problems since installing the filters. There are two types available, internal and external. The internal filters are recommended but require opening the cube. If this is a problem, get the external type. Unfortunately, the external filters are delayed due to a re-design of the holding frame. Apologies to those who haven't received their filters yet.
