I've noticed an intermittent problem with my autolaunching applications on the dock. About 8 of the 12 apps are autolaunched when everything goes correctly, they are: Preferences Monitor Eyecon Mail Edit LockScreen 2 Terminals Everyonce in a while I'll get messages in the console that look like: Mar 10 02:37:41 nextcc1 pbs: msg_send error: -102 Mar 10 02:37:41 nextcc1 Terminal[683]: App Kit: Pasteboard Mach messaging error #-203 Mar 10 02:37:41 nextcc1 Monitor[677]: An uncaught exception was raised Mar 10 02:37:42 nextcc1 Edit[680]: An uncaught exception was raised Mar 10 02:37:42 nextcc1 Monitor[677]: App Kit: Pasteboard Mach messaging error #-203 Mar 10 02:37:42 nextcc1 Edit[680]: App Kit: Pasteboard Mach messaging error #-203 Mar 10 02:37:42 nextcc1 pbs: msg_send error: -102 Mar 10 02:37:43 nextcc1 pbs: msg_send error: -102 and then some of the apps mentioned in the errors will not complete launching, but rather die. In the above listing Monitor and Edit died but Terminal kept going with no obvious problems. There doesn't seem to be much correlation between different logins and which apps die, i.e. one day Monitor might die another day it will be Eyecon. One day things seemed to be so bad that they all died and then I was dumped back to the login panel... The next is booting from a 660 meg server and is otherwise a stock 8 meg, OD machine. Has anyone seen this on their nexts? Any comments or suggestions? -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- whelan@uhccux.uhcc.hawaii.edu | ee367016@wiliki.eng.hawaii.edu | This space mistakenly left blank whelan@nextcc1.uhcc.hawaii.edu |
