[comp.sys.next] No umount on logoff?

Is there anyway to keep autodiskmount from not umounting
the optical on logoff?

Assuming you mean "keep it from umounting":

If you use /etc/mount and insert the disk after its is asked for, then it
will not be dismounted automatically when you log off. It will be just
like any normal Unix partition. This is not quite what you asked about,
but it may achieve the same effect.

If you mount the optical the normal way while logged-in as "root",
then the volume will stay mounted across logins and logouts.
