I was delighted to find that the NeXT xterm client distributed with the X11 server supports VT100 emulation -- sort of. For example, I was positively ecstatic to find out that the vast majority of the keypad keys send correct VT100 escape sequences -- huzzah! My initial elation was quickly tempered when I found I couldn't generate PF1-PF4 <the normal "top row" on a VT100 Keypad> or KP, <Keypad Comma> -- all of the rest of the keys are there just fine, but those five keys are completely unavailable as far as I can tell. I've tried just about every control, shift, alt, command anything sequence I can think of, to no avail. If anyone can share a NeXT xterm trick that will let me get the rest of those keys functional, I promise you a beer (or Perier or ...) the next time you're in Oregon or we cross paths on the conference circuit...
