Hi, I am new to this group and i hope what i am about to ask has not been discuss in the net. Thanks. The problem occur about 2 weeks ago. I WAS running next under the optical disk. ( no $$ to buy a hard disk yet ) About 3 days after the NeXT was running, a power went off in my lab. The next thing i know, the NeXT refuses to boot up from the floptical. It gave me a message "BAD DISK". Why ? So, I build a new disk using a friends NeXT. This new Floptical was use in for about 4 days and some one power down my NeXT and the next thing I know, the same error shows up agin. BAD DISK!!! Why ??? the DISK cost $50 and it only lasted for 3 days. The thing that worry me was not the price of the DISK but the reliability. I have my work save on the NeXT and all the time i spend setting it to much if it only lasted for 3 days. Having to encounter this problem twice, i really think i should ask this net people to assist me on what i did wrong and possibly help me on getting those two floptical disk back to it's working condition. Thank you for all the help you can give. ---- Hanz Makmur Rutgers University CCIS Graphics Lab
