We recently purchased two new cubes. I have noticed that the displays on these new cubes dim slightly differently than on the cubes we purchased last September (they dim or brighten with the absence on a preceivable flicker). I actually have one of the new displays hooked-up to one of the old cubes and it dims the way it always has (with a bit of a flicker). This seems to indicate that the new cubes, not the new displays, have some different hardware. A different ROM? (Yes, we did have the ROM's replaced in our old cubes with the upgrade to 1.0, so that's not the explanation.) I guess I could eviscerate an old and new cube to find out, but there are some grad students here that wouldn't be very happy to find their platforms in pieces.
