I've submitted an App (why is that always capitalized??) to cs.orst.edu called Lingwhat. I left it in the submissions directory, although it may have migrated to the binaries directory by the time you read this. Given the number of sound (!) and image files that I compiled into it, providing source would have been more hassle than I was willing to go through. It's basically just a fancy interface to a decision-tree program. The idea is that if you have an article or book in front of you, and would like to know what language it's written in, you can use Lingwhat to find out. No strong claims about correctness or completeness are made. In fact, the next major release will handle more than double the number of languages -- this release only knows about 39 (sorry, Sina; next release...). Bug reports, suggestions and comments are welcome and solicited. Sorry if I either didn't include, or messed up on your favorite language.
