Besides, one of the best parts of comp.sys.next is that despite the occasisonal "NeXT vs. Amiga vs. Mac vs Osborne...." wars, you do get a pretty broad range of discussions (sort of in the spirit of the NeXT wouldn't u say?) which can range from in-depth programming to straight stuff like repiring flopticals. Besides, this still has got a long way to go before it reaches the old comp.sys.mac size, with 8 pages of stuff a day. I am prety positive that most readers will be able to skip stuff that they don't want to read, and who knows, they might actually pick something up!! Anyyhow, what ARE all those questions that you want to ask?? ************************************************************************ Mahesh Subramanya INTERNET: mahesh@darwin.cc.nd.edu Senior Analyst Office of University Computing NeXT: mahesh@numenor.cc.nd.edu University of Notre Dame Voice: (219) 239-5600 x6421 Notre Dame, IN 46556 ************************************************************************ From vn Wed May 30 13:08:28 1990 Subject: Re: Programmers Mailing List Newsgroups: comp.sys.next References: <178@heaven.woodside.ca.us> In article <18575@orstcs.CS.ORST.EDU>, jasmerb@mist.cs.orst.edu (Bryce Jasmer) says: > >I would like to get some heavy discussions going about programming and >I think that might annoy a lot of readers who are interested more in >the general use of the machine. Geez, why is it even such a big deal if the occasional mac vs. NeXT war comes up? That's what KILL files are for. One of the great parts of this group is it's wide variety. If I'm not interested in a particularly technical thread, I kill it. This group doesn't get THAT much traffic (yet) that it needs to be split up. (Just my own opinion). --mike michaelh@neon.stanford.edu
