In a german Mac magazine I read two interesting articles about a color NeXT and a new standard for MOD. They contain the following information: 1. 32-bit color system produced by Dawewoo Telecom, Korea and developed by the Univerity of Washington. The board contains a TI graphics coprocessor, four TI FP coprocessors running at 160 MFLOPS(!) and a 16KB framebuffer. The price is 20,000$. 2. A new standard for 3,5in. magneto optical discs is emerging: at present the disk's capacity is 128MB/side and seektime of 28ms. 256MB/<20ms and mass production promised for the end of this year. Apple and some major workstation manufacturers (hopefully including NeXT are reported to be involved in the development of the standard. Does anybody know more about it? Any comment highly appeciated. Patrick haener@urz.unibas.ch
