[comp.sys.next] Evaluations of NeXT Performance in Multi-user Situations Requested

mbell@cie.uoregon.edu (Max Bell) (08/21/90)

Our site is considering purchasing a new machine to replace our current, overly
costly to maintain, machine. The NeXT has been mentioned as a possibility, but
its ability to meet the needs of our site's multi-user environment (16+ users
with various applications from telnet use to compiling & other CPU/IO intensive
jobs) has been disputed by various outside sources. I would be very interested
in hearing from anyone who is running a NeXT in a similar situation, or can
refer me to someone who does. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
