Hello, I was wondering what sort of correspondence there is between Mach ports on a NeXT and the port numbers on the TCP/IP network beteen the NeXTs (if I have my names & abbrev.s right =8) ). Does each Mach port get assigned a new port number (unlikely)? Do all Mach messages get sent to one particular port, with Mach-port-info in the header? How are they specified, then, in a non-reusable manner (so if a port dies, and a new one gets created, it won't suddenly start getting packets meant for the old port)? -- wiml@blake.acs.washington.edu Seattle, Washington | No sig under (William Lewis) | 47 41' 15" N 122 42' 58" W |||||||| construction
