Please excuss me if this request is inappropriate for this group. I am very interested in doing independent research, leading hopefully to a marketable product on the Next. Some questions I have are: 1)How do I go about becoming a NeXT developer? (phone number/email address of someone at NeXT to contact for more information). 2)What benefits do registered developers get? (such as pricing discounts). 3)How difficult is it to become a registered developer? Much thanks, -Ronald Hardock rhardock%alias@csri.utoronto.ca

How do you become a NeXT developer? Just ask! That's the easy part. The hard part is taking a week off of work and going to San Jose to take the "developer's conference". Though I see the reasoning behind NeXT's decision to force developer's to take this conference, it has had the added benefit of forcing me to not purchase a system. I can't take the time to go to the developer's conference, and I can't afford the developers conference. Needless to say, I can't purchase a system to play with either. It's not much skin off of my nose, as I decided to buy a nice COLOR Silicon Graphics system (for those and other reasons, obviously...). I would still LOVE to buy a NeXT at the developer's price, but since I can't go to the developer's conference I can't get the developer's price ( even though I would eventually be developing software on the NeXT...) I have a developer's "number", but since I didn't rush right out and fly to San Jose the month they sent out my "number" I have apparently been dropped from the mailing list. I sure would like to get information from the horses mouth... Oh well! Everyone is waiting untill after September anyway... ;-) tima@agora.hf.intel.com tektronix!tessi!agora!tima
