InfoWorld's August 27 issue writes under the title "Next Hopes 68040
Intro Can Regain Momentum" on the front page:

" ... the company plans to unveil three new computers - all based on
the 25-MHz 68040 microprocessor and one sporting a 24-bit color
monitor - on September 18 ..."

" ... The new color systm, [...] includes 24-bit video and bundles
Pixar's Renderman software..."

" ... None of the new systems include the optical drive used in the
original machine, though it will be an option. ..."

" ... The two monochrome systems have pizza-box-size CPU boxes rather
than cubes..."

" ... At least two units, including the color system, will include a
2.88-megabyte floppy drive that reads and writes DOS disks ..."

" ... The speed improvement of the 68040, estimated to be about three
times that of the 68030, and 10 times in floating-point operations, ..."

"... Lotus is now putting finishing touches on its Next financial
modeling and spreadsheet program, which was written from the ground up
for the Next platform, said a Lotus spokeswoman. Code-named Back Bay,
the program has cross-tabbing and allows users to collaps and expand

"... Word Perfect plans to show its Next word processor when Next
announces its new computer and to release it in October or November,
