I have just spoken with someone at NeXT and the current situation concerning Allegro Common Lisp and the 2.0 release is currently being negotiated between NeXT and Franz. It seems that they have reached a verbal agreement so far, but this has not yet been formalized. What they have said is that Allegro Common Lisp will be bundled in the 2.0 release for all current users. New users, on the other hand, will have to get ACL from Franz. My source had no idea what the charge would be but said that they were hoping that it would not be unreasonable. Franz will have to make this decision. Paul Lansky Music Dept. Princeton Univ.
