eps@toaster.SFSU.EDU (Eric P. Scott) (09/22/90)
Most of what I did for 90.06.28 has been incorporated into the "official" release (thanks, Dave!), and except for a late addition to the code, it _almost_ compiles on the NeXT now. If you have Berkeley's version, all that needs to be done is to add -DNO_STRDUP to the DEFINES= in telnet/Makefile for next1.0 to get something that runs. What's on sutro.sfsu.edu now incorporates that fix and some minor stupidity reduction, but is functionally equivalent to the Berkeley version available from ucbarpa.berkeley.edu (in pub) and uunet.uu.net (in networking). There seems to be some new breakage in telnetd relative to the 90.06.28 version (uh-oh), so I'm only recommending the user telnet at this time. BTW, for you MS-DOS fans out there, Clarkson University finally released CUTCP/TC-C, which fixes an option negotiation bug that caused it to hang when trying to talk to 90.06.28 or 90.09.14 telnetd. -=EPS=-
