It's about that time of year: OOPSLA runs from 21 October to 25 October, in Ottawa, Canada. I think we should take this opportunity to gather future-minded folks to talk about life, the NeXT, and everything. My agenda includes the following items: - Creating a market for end-user objects. - Extending IB to deal better with end-user objects. - Settling on an inset (cold link) messaging/data standard. - Thinking about new UI tactics (for cold links, hot links, persistence). - Where we think NeXT should go next. Oddly enough, the NeXT universe is the only place where people can truly expect to make any real-world progress in these realms, so we should look on this as an opportunity to carve out the shape of the future for commercial objects. Exciting, eh? The OOPSLA program says: "Several rooms will be available 24 hours a day [for BOFs], from Sunday through Thursday noon. Rooms may be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis by signing up at the Conference Information Desk. There will be no advance reservations for these rooms prior to the conference." If you're interested, please let me know by e-mail, so that I'll have a rough idea of how many to expect. I'll arrange to get a room once at the conference. See you there!
