I was wondering (forgive my ignorance) if the Monochrome Slab could be upgraded to a Color Slab in the future or are the two completely different critters? Thanks for any information, Nathan

I have also asked this very same question to my NeXT salesperson. He told me that there is no expansion slot for graphic board inside the "slab" chasis. This means that you won't be able to upgrade by just plugging in a color board. Now, depending on what your phrase "in the future" means, you may be able to trade in your monochrome mother board for a color one when you upgrade to the third release of the NeXT machine. To upgrade from a slab to a color you would need to replace the mother- board. I don't know if NeXT will do this but I suspect that if they do, it wouldn't be real cheap. Anyway, none of the slab configurations have a slot of any kind. Just wanted to clear that point.
