In response to my message re: cube fans Regarding your question about reversing the fan on an older NeXT: Iattended NeXT technical service training at NeXT in Redwood City. They specifically told us not to ever reverse the old style fan (I have one myself). Apparently the venting within the Cube itself is matched to the direction of the airflow. A old Cube with a reversed fan will not cool properly. Related note: Just last week NeXT sent me a service upgrade kit that included a sample dust filter and cleaners for both the OD and the disks themselves.
