"Maxtor Readies 35M-Byte [sic] Hard Drive

  "Maxtor Corp. last week announced the industry's
highest-capacity, 3 1/2-inch hard drive, according
to company officials.
  "Volume shipments of the LXT-535, which is capable
of storing 535M bytes of data, are scheduled to begin
in early 1991.
  "The drive's average seek time is 12.5 milliseconds;
its maximum data transfer rate with an AT interface
is 5M bytes per second, company officials said.
  "The OEM price for the LXT-535 will be $1,450; a
437M-byte LXT-437 model will retail for $1,250.
  "Maxtor, of San Jose, Calif., can be reached at
