[comp.sys.next] SLIP OR PPP in 2.0

dwboyce@acsu.buffalo.edu (Mr B) (10/06/90)

Does release 2.0 include that elusive driver for net connection over
serial lines???????

Also, could someone post or email me the hardware specifics of the
mono and color NeXTstations (i.e. # serial ports, # open slots, # of SCSI
hard drive capability--internal and external, etc.)

# serial ports = 2 (if you want more get a terminal server on the
ethernet)
# open slots = 0 (there are no slots in the NeXTstation, that's why it
is so cheap)
# of SCSI harddrives internal: 1 3.5" half height (already built in,
so there is no space for a second one, maybe with hacking you could
exchange the floppy with a second drive though)
# of SCSI harddrives external: limited only by the SCSI specs and the
number of targets you have used for other devices
