[comp.sys.next] Fujitsu M2263SA Disk

majka@cs.ubc.ca (Marc Majka) (10/15/90)

Here is a bit of net.wisdom for anyone considering a Fujitsu M2263SA
disk on their NeXT. You will need to remove jumpers 1 and 8 from the
CNH2 block (Inquiry enable and Syncronous data transfer enable) on the
disk, and add the entries below to your /etc/disktab.

The partitions are 256Mb for "a" and 415Mb for "b". This is small
for the "a" partition - a complete 1.0a system is about 207Mb. If
you want different partitions you will have to mess around with the
pa, sa, pb and sb fields.

It is a good, fast, and inexpensive disk. Slightly noisier than
other SCSI disks I have played with.
