Yup.  That's exactly what your dealer would have done, only he would have
charged you $100 for "Fabric Protector".  It's best to do this as soon as
possible; also a good idea to do it with windows down, away from direct
sun, etc.  The latter will help keep the stuff from condensing on your 
windows and lungs.

Any good wax will do. but check with your owner's manual about how long to 
wait before applying it... the paint needs time to dry fully first.

There is some evidence that Polyglycoat merges with the paint so well that
the paint evaporates along with the PG after a few years.  Unfortunately,
that evidence seems to include the roof and hood of my PG-ed RX-7!
