This is to advise everyone of the impending arrival of a new programming language for the NeXT. Eiffel is currently being ported to the NeXT by Interactive Software Engineering, Santa Barbara, Ca. This is the company founded, in part, by Bertrand Meyer who was instrumental in creating Eiffel and who has written an excellent book on object-oriented programming. The book is titled Object-oriented Software Construction and is published by Prentice Hall (ISBN 0-13-629049-3). There is currently an Eiffel newsgroup called comp.lang.eiffel which is monitored fairly regularly by Bertrand Meyer and his company, ISE. Like all other enlightened commercial enterprises, ISE is on the internet as eiffel.com Comp.lang.eiffel is a neat newsgroup, and it's great fun to note the French phrases which pepper the postings (some of the principal originators of Eiffel are, not surprisingly, originally French). The NeXT family welcomes Eiffel, I'm sure. Laissez les bon temps roulez! -- Chuck Herrick cnh5730@calvin.tamu.edu
