Oh no! Not another Mac devotee converting to NeXT? Could it be true? Yes, I actually went to Businessland today to look seriously at the NeXT (our school does not sell them -- I was of course referred to a distributor in Raleigh who sells to local schools and such). I know it's obvious to all the NeXT fans, but why should I sacrifice my considerable experience on a Mac (I don't own one myself) and all the apps I would have (illegal) access to (until I had the money to buy them), such as QuarkXPress, Adobe Illustrator, Aldus FreeHand, etc.? I hear XPress and Illustrator will soon be available for the NeXT. When? My main interest is programming, and the NeXT development environment and UNIX are certainly better bargains than the Mac counterparts. P.S. If anyone from the Mac kingdom reads this, please forgive my transgression.
