Thanks to those who have posted on this subject. For background, I understand there was a problem with dust in the optical drives of cubes that have fans that blow air out of the cube (and thus pull air into the optical drive). NeXT just told me the following: If the fan blows out (bad), then you can unscrew it, reverse it, and reinstall it. This won't be as effective for cooling, so isn't a good idea if you are stuffing the cube with boards. I don't know how many boards are OK, and I don't know whether the dust filter will fit or work this way. The cubes that have vents both in front and in back are the ones where the fan blows in (better). There is no way to tell from the sealed carton what the fan configuration for the cube is. My Businessland rep was going to ask his manager whether I can open the carton to examine (and hopefully turn on) my cube when it arrives. If not, I'm not sure I'll accept delivery. Does anyone have any more info on this? John Troxell
