I have an old (unfortunately, three to six months constitutes old nowadays - the only hardware that hasn't undergone a major change in functionality is emacs!) QIC-24 tape drive in an external SCSI enclosure. Unfortunately, version 1 of the next OS doesn't support this format tape; when booting up I get all kinds of amusing error messages regarding the system's inability to read the tape drive's disk label. Of course, all my jumpers and whatnot are OK. Has anyone gotten a QIC 24 or 150 sun-type tapedrive to work with either 1.0 or 2.0? This is really frustrating since the physical devices are there - /dev/rst0 and /dev/rst1 - but no kernel support or working drivers. Thanks! Tim Reed treed@object.com Gotham Users of NeXT, Inc.
