I have been trying to transfer some fonts from a Mac to a
NeXT with very little success.
First I tried the Mark Harris's Macintosh Font Resource Converter
(mfrc). The problem is that I can't seem to find the printer-
downloadable versions. We have about 20 or so fonts installed,
but when I try and transfer them over, (using DataViz), the
NeXT receives them as empty files.
There has also been a suggestion on the net (I'm sorry I don't
remember who) to do a "brute-force" method of transferring:
saving a postscript file on the Mac with all the fonts I need
and then changing the format to match those of the NeXT. I
tried this but couldn't figure out how to "print" to a post
script file on the Mac (on the NeXT, it's easy).
One other area I'm confused about is afm files. What are they,
why do I need them, and how do I get them?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
