Hi, I just had this strange experience about 2 minutes ago... I was opening a file.ps. Since I clicked it from Drectory Browser, the Preview was launched. Fine. Then a warning panel poped up saying that Preview has trouble openning that .ps file. I clicked the ok button (or was it continue?) suddenly, the scren cleared up, and with 2 seconds, I was with the login window! What happend? Since my modem's lights indicated that it was still on-hook, I logged in immediately. At Terminal, I checked the process with ps command, only 2 processes showed up! There's no sign of older process. I then used "finger" and "w" to see who's on. "me" was loggend in twice. One (earlier one) at console, one (later login one, which is what I am with) at ttyp2. Funny, since the modem was on-hook, I decided torun kermit. It got the line without any problem! After "connect" and a few return, I was back with my login session here! Now I opened another Terminal window and issued "ps" comand, Now, all the processes are shown!! What's happening here? Any clue? cyliao@wam.umd.edu o NeXT : I put main frame power on two chips. @epsl.umd.edu o people: We put main flame power on two guys. @bagend.eng.umd.edu o :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: xxxxx@xxxxx.xxx.xxx (reserved) o RC + Apple // + Classic Music + NeXT = cyliao
