Distribution USA Hi I looked out for a clone 386 but ended with considering a NeXT. It seems obvious that NeXT is better choice for a Unix box I'm looking for. The only problem I have is that I have used fortran to write many programs for basic science research. And these programs are continous in using. Even though I am fairly good at C but there is no sense to rewrite all these programs. I may obtain the many libraries for numerical analysis from network which are necessary for my programs but the Fortran compiler by a third party with a price tag $1500 is totally out of my budget. I'm a graduate student and may graduate soon so I need to port my programs with me form school main-frame whereever I go. Is there a low costor free fortran compiler out there for NeXT? I do not do fancy thing on computor. A good editor like emacs, a nice WYSIWYG word processor, and some decent compilers, make utilities, and free libraries for numerical analysis which come in bundle with NeXT seem good enough for my present and future perpose. The only thing, I can think of, prevents me to buy a NeXT is there might not be a low cost or free fortran compiler I weight it badly. Any information is welcomed. Thank you in advance.
