[comp.sys.next] IBM not pushing NeXTStep?

daugher@ksrcnxt3.tamu.edu (Walter C. Daugherity) (12/04/90)

Third-hand quote attributed to Personal Workstation December 1990:

"...the AIX [third-party software] catalog runs only about 700 pages, but at
5 pounds 5 1/2 ounces, it outweighs Sun's.

"...Interestingly, nowehere in the catalog's 700 pages is there a
mention of NextStep, the programing environment that NeXT licensed
to IBM for AIX several years ago. Has IBM moved on to its next
step without NeXT?"

Maybe, but maybe IBM just considers its licensed version of NeXTStep an IBM
product and therefore didn't list it as "third-party". Food for thought....
