To all who email'ed me answers to my last post of questions ... thank you! I have one more area of uncertainty about the NeXT. If I get a personal cube (or station), how do I hook up to the net for mail (send/receive) and news services? Do I have to have the cooperation of a nice system guy at the nearest university (not too likely in Dallas or Austin -- this is not really a jab just that all systems around here seem to be heavy in the accounting software area -- and the rates are OUTRAGEOUS!)? I seem to remember reading that ANYONE can become a member of the net for free. How is this accomplished? Who do you contact? And what kind of commitment does it require? Can you just get an extra phone line for the NeXT, a domain address, and then be connected up? It seems that the NeXT wouldn't be half as useful if network access (mail, ftp, news, etc.) is not availiable to the common person (cheaply, if not freely). Thanks in advance for the help/opinions.
