Since the Keyboard application in /NextDeveloper/Demos is so easy to
use, and since it doesn't include a Dvorak keyboard setting , I
decided to create one.
I set it up with Keyboard, and stuck it in /LocalLibrary/Keyboards.
Then, after choosing it in Preferences, I had a Dvorak keyboard. To
make it more official, I decided to physically remap my keyboard. All
went well (with a bit of trouble getting the space bar back on), but I
found out that the shape of the keys on each of the rows is *not*
identical.
NeXT seems to have altered the shapes of the keys so they (presumably)
better fit your hands... In any case, the keyboard went back together
and works fine (although it looks and feels a little strange).
Now I'm learning how to type in Dvorak... Here's the keymapping file
generated by the Keyboard application. uudecode it and stick it in
/LocalLibrary/Keyboards or ~/Library/Keyboards.
