Here's the scenario: I have a bibliography typed on a dumb terminal (from home) which I import into a WriteNow document. I'm just thrilled that I will be able to have real Italics instead of underlining. Now, my intuition tells me that what I should do is select all the book titles, then go to the font panel and set them in italics. So I get out the manual to find the variant select mechanism that will let me select all the titles. What? There's no way to extend a selection to a non-contiguous block of text? So for EACH title, I have to: select the title; go to the font panel; select the family; select italics; select the size; click Set. As you might guess, my enthusiasm has waned considerably by the end of the first page. Am I expecting too much? Or did I overlook the magic command somewhere?

Well, there is a "cut/paste font" command, and command-key equivalent. (command-3 and command-4, I think ... highly mnemonic.) So you could, after copying the desired italic font wth cmd-3, just highlight each title and press cmd-4 (paste font). Though, I agree that it would be nice to be able to select noncontiguous blocks of text ... -- wiml@milton.acs.washington.edu Seattle, Washington (William Lewis) | 47 41' 15" N 122 42' 58" W "These 2 cents will cost the net thousands upon thousands of dollars to send everywhere.
