Below is the answer I received from NeXT about running common lisp for
people who have a 1.0 system... It is not the answer I expected, but
given the hostile response from Franz ("It's NeXT's problem, not ours"),
current 1.0 users will have to wait a little... In our case since
we will be installing 040 upgrades, lisp users will have to migrate to
another platform.
A reminder to new readers, Common Lisp is not bundled with 2.0. Current
1.0 people will receive an upgrade.

Pascal,
Franz Lisp from the 1.0 release will not run under 2.0. However, all
1.0 owners will receive an update package when it is ready
(January/February timeframe). Sorry for the inconvenience, but until
that time, people wanting to use Lisp will have to run it on 1.0
systems.
