i've had my (68030/1.0) cube crash several times in the past few weeks
with somewhat cryptic messages:
Nov 30 11:25:39 sarah mach: ipl5: spurious interrupt
...
Dec 3 06:15:01 sarah mach: zone "kernel map entries" empty.
Dec 3 06:15:01 sarah mach: panic: (Cpu 0) zalloc
...
Dec 10 18:44:57 sarah mach: ipl5: spurious interrupt
Dec 11 05:30:01 sarah mach: zone "kernel map entries" empty.
Dec 11 05:30:01 sarah mach: panic: (Cpu 0) zalloc
...
Dec 15 10:53:35 sarah mach: ipl5: spurious interrupt
Dec 16 23:00:01 sarah mach: zone "kernel map entries" empty.
Dec 16 23:00:01 sarah mach: panic: (Cpu 0) zalloc
(each panic message is followed by a killing all processes/reboot sequence)
i don't know whether the ipl5 messages are related to the panics, but there
seems to be some correlation... (and i just got another ipl5 message 5
minutes ago -- guess i'll keep my files saved)
the first two times the panics happened after the machine had been idle
for quite a while, but the last one happened while i was in the middle of
editing (thank you FrameMaker for autosave!!).
i'm not too worried, since it hasn't interfered with the machine's usability
and i assume that replacing both processor board and software when i get my
68040 upgrade will make it go away, but i am curious.
has anyone else seen anything like this? any idea what's happening?
